Why does the Tacky Sublimation Paper Dry Slower Than common Transfer Paper?

Hi~ good afternoon, my dear friends! Today, let 's talk about the dry speed of tacky sublimation paper. Sticky sublimation paper is different from regular sublimation transfer paper , because it has a tackified coating, which will be activated by heat during transfer , and will adhere to the textile to prevent the transfer result from ghosting , especially used on flat press.

Most of the customers have met this kind of problem . That the adhesive sublimation paper dries slower than regular dye sublimation paper, even though the sticky paper is quick-dry type too. This doesn’t mean the sticky paper has quality problem , actually it is related with the tackified coating .

The tackified sublimation coating , is mostly made up of high molecula polymer , this type of material is water-based , unlike the regular paper doesn’t have water-based high polymer in the coating , so the drying time of sticky paper will be longer than the regular paper .

What’s more ,the tacky is inverse correlation with the drying time. In other words , the higher sticky , the slower the paper dries . So for sticky sublimation paper , the “sticky” is not the more the better, the sticky should be just right .

In different factories, the tackness of the sticky paper is different. Some factories produce the very high tacky paper, because they only focus on the tackness of the tacky paper, after all, the tackness is the only difference from regular sublimation transfer paper, and clients pay more attention on the tackness too. Under this circumstance, both of them ignore the drying speed of the tacky paper, which is super important too. Some tacky paper truely has a very high tackness, but the drying speed is very very slow at the same time, more than 5 minutes, even more than 10 minutes, in which we think this is not good for the production efficiency.

We have two types of sticky sublimation paper, the High-tacky sublimation paper and Medium-tacky sublimation paper. The only difference is that the tacky degree. The high tacky paper has higher tackness than the medium tacky. The drying speed is longer than medium tacky, about 3-4 minutes, the medium-tacky paper, drying speed is less than 3 minutes.
