Difference Between Cotton Digital Printing & Sublimation Transfer Printing

What's the difference between cotton digital printing and sublimation tTransfer printing? Today, I will make a introduction to it.

 1. The difference of technology

Cotton digital printing is usually set by the computer to be printed, and finished by machine printing. (Applicable range is more than 80% cotton clothes, ink is pigment ink)

Thermal transfer printing usually prints the pattern on a medium and then heats it on it when it is printed. (Non-cotton clothes, ink is thermal transfer ink) A simple analogy is that a cotton digital print is like a printer that prints out a document. The thermal transfer printing is like a fake tattoo on the street.

2. Hand-feeling

It is of course good for cotton digital printing. Needless to say, thermal transfer printing gives people a feeling of "hard". Of course, if you use good paper for thermal transfer, the feel will be better, but it is still good for cotton digital printing.

3. Color

In terms of color, the color of thermal transfer printing is absolutely brighter than that of cotton digital printing. Cotton digital printing will have large color cast, gray and light (the solution is to use color ink together with the treatment liquid to make the paint more vivid). However, the heat is still relatively bright.

4. Air permeability

This problem depends on the materials used by each of them. For sublimation transfer, it is poor in rubber permeability for pure cotton, and there is no such problem in non-cotton. Cotton digital printing has a good effect on pure cotton. Non-cotton effect is poor. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

5. Washfastness

Their washfastness is similar. If you want to achieve the effect of not washing it off with the traditional screen printing.

What’s the Difference Between Sticky Sublimation Transfer Paper And Sublimation Paper?

For sublimation transfer paper , we generally divide it into 2 types: the fast dry sublimation paper and the sticky sublimation paper. But most people just know the fast dry sublimation paper, because the applications of sticky paper is limited. But sometimes, sticky paper is also important. Tacky sublimation paper is one type of sublimation paper with a tackified coating. The tackified coating will be activated by heat.
