The List of 5 Common Problems of The Sublimation Paper----- Have You ever Meet? (01)

Hi,  Glad you are willing to click my blog. In our daily usage of the sublimation transfer paper, we must meet a lot of problems . Such as the wave in the printing process , the cruel of the paper, the yellow of the paper or the ghosting of the paper etc.  Today I have summed up five common problems of the sublimation paper and some tips about how to solve these problems. Hope this article can be useful to you.

Firstly, have a brief introduction that the five common problems of the sublimation transfer paper are as follows : Banding, moisture issues, ghosting of the patterns , the wrong colors output, transfer lines on garment applications.

Then analyze these five problems carefully.

1. Banding of the patterns printed

As time goes by , the sublimation ink may dry out. Just because this kind of situation happened on the print head of the digital inkjet printer ,  then obviously the flow of the ink will be inhibited, which results in streaks of missing ink on the printout-BANDING.

And how to solve this problem , only if you are printing in a regular basis, just at least several time a week  the sublimation ink will have no opportunity to getting dry.But for long stretches of time with no printer activity ,you could have issues.  The key is to keep the ink flowing. The simplest way to deal with this is to run a small quantity of ink through the heads on a routine basis. In the case of Ricoh printers, this is done for you automatically ,as long as you leave the printer powered up . Key thing to remember : No Power - No Clean !  However , for most Epson printers you will need to perform a manual print head cleaning every few days ,which means pushing a button.

2. Moisture Issues
How can we distinguish if the problem of the sublimation paper is because of the Moisture Issues? If your pressed image ends up with what looks like splotches of missed color or fuzzy looking details, you are most likely dealing with moisture issues.  Under normal circumstances, the small amount of moisture that can accumulate in your sublimation transfer paper is absorbed directly into the transfer substrate; however hard substrates like metal and ceramic are unable to absorb excess moisture.  During the production with a heat press operating at 400 degrees, that moisture can flash to steam and literally blow away the dye . Some of the problems that are attributed to moisture include : Color shifting (colors lose accuracy), bleeding of the image, and uneven transfer of solid filled areas .

The most direct ides to prevent this problem is that protect the dye sublimation paper from moisture absorption. The specific operation: As a preventative measure , you should store your paper in dry place. Consider a sealed container such as a
re-closable plastic bag.  If you suspect moisture, set the paper on your press for a few seconds (5 seconds). Do not press it. Just expose it to the warmth. The heat radiating from the press should help evaporate most of the moisture.

These above is my share about the two problems of the sublimation transfer paper. If you have any needs or some better suggestions welcome to contact us at any time. We will provide you with the best quality product and service. Thank you for your reading.
