The List of 5 Common Problems of The Sublimation Paper----- Have You ever Meet? (02)

Hi, Nice to see you again. In the last article I share you about the 5 common problems of the sublimation transfer paper. Today, I will share you about the rest 3 problems.

3.Ghosting of the patterns on the sublimation paper
Ghosting is when you end up with a blurry image ,typically characterized by a shadow effect along or outside of the edges. Gassing out is when you end up with a "burst" of ink outside of the image area.  Sublimation requires a tight marriage between the sublimation paper and the blank product during pressing. If the sublimation transfer paper shifts or is not firmly planted against the substrate, then the result will be ghosting and/or gassing out.   And how to solve this problem ?
The ghosting may always appeared in the following 4 circumstances, and we have different solutions when face the different situations.

A.For hard substrate, use heat resistant tape to tape the dye sublimation paper to the back of the product. Do not tape across the image area as this can often damage the image quality. Press the product normally ,then remove the transfer carefully .
B.For soft substrates. To use spray adhesive , spray a light mist on the image side of the sublimation paper from about 10” away. Do not spray the shirt. Then simply press the transfer paper to the product . If you position it incorrectly , you can lift it off and reposition it.
C.The other way is to buy the sublimation paper with tacky surface , we call it tacky paper. You don’t have to use the spray anymore.
D.Dirty Blowout Sheet. If you teflon blowout sheet becomes stained or dirty , it also cause ghosting. You may want to consider using a sheet of paper such as newsprint
instead of teflon. Be sure to use a fresh sheet on every pressing cycle.

4.The wrong colors output
What you see is not what you get ? The problem of color mis-match is not the result of defective system, rather it comes from the fact that there are multiple pieces of image rendering equipment involved in the process, each having different methods and ranges of color manager . First and foremost, the computer monitor is displaying the RGB mode while the printer is printing with CMYK mode. And with sublimation ,what comes out of the printer is not the final color as it will shift again during the pressing , It’s kind of like translating French to English to Spanish, you can get the general message across, but rarely is there a direct word-to-word match-up. Rule of Thumb- Output color is correct, it’s the input color that’s wrong.  The key is to correlate or match the color on the screen to the color that ends up on the finished substrate .

5. Transfer lines on garment applications
Transfer lines are a result of the shirt fibers melting along the edges of the transfer
sheet. But how to solve this transfer lines? About 3 ways for you to have a try
First, Experiment with time , temperature and pressure settings.
Second,Experiment with tearing the edges of the sublimation paper to soften them.
Third,  Use the foam production process.
