If you have read about my last article you need to take care of your sticky sublimation paper in case of the drying. Today I will keep the topic of sublimation paper and share you three important factors that you should take care and pay attention to before you buy or choose your sublimation paper.

 Functional Coating
  Someone professional in the sublimation printing must know that the reason why the patterns printed by  the sublimation paper and sublimation ink can be transferred is just because the function coating of the paper. So take care of this factor is really very important. This coating is composite by the filler and binder. It can provide the porosity as we desired and then achieve a high transfer efficiency. The suitable filler and binder materials, there are many different types, examples of suitable filler materials includes silica, calcium carbonate, clays, and binders include polyvinyl alcohol, acrylics, latexes, natural polymer etc. The quality of the coating and dosage of the coating in one square meter can directly influence  the ink absorbing and the printing effect of the sublimation paper. So take care of this, print better patterns.

 Base Paper
  From the last you can know that before you coating, you should first get the base paper. And now there are two types of base paper in the market: sublimation base paper and the offset base paper. The fibers and the openness of the base paper may have a great influence to the transfer result. For example, the sublimation base paper, is made up of softwood and hardwood pulp, it provides a very good high-heat durability and good intention to the paper. On the other hand ,the tightness of the sublimation base paper is higher, then the porosity is smaller.  If the tightness is lower, the porosity if bigger, then the ink will penetrate the base paper to the back side, not stay on the felt side and directly transferred to the textile. It will not only get a bad transfer effect but your sublimation ink will also be wasted. While is  made up of waste papers pulp, and the wide application of the offset paper is the newspaper, magazines. And of course the professional effect will be worse than the sublimation base paper.


 Anti-curl Coating
  When I introduce our sublimation paper to our customers I will always emphasize the performance of "anti-curl". Having a anti-curl coating can help the paper avoid the curling. After you doing the coating on the sublimation base paper, you must wait the drying process. While if there is only one coating in the felt side of the sublimation base paper, but without the the coating in the wire side, then the felt side is wet and the elasticity of the paper will be different. Then your sublimation paper will get curl.Just like the A3 and the A4 sublimation paper may get curl because the wet of the humidity of the environment. So in order to protect your print head and save your cost you should better make sure the anti-curl of the sublimation paper.

What’s the Difference Between Sticky Sublimation Transfer Paper And Sublimation Paper?

For sublimation transfer paper , we generally divide it into 2 types: the fast dry sublimation paper and the sticky sublimation paper. But most people just know the fast dry sublimation paper, because the applications of sticky paper is limited. But sometimes, sticky paper is also important. Tacky sublimation paper is one type of sublimation paper with a tackified coating. The tackified coating will be activated by heat. After the tackified coating is activated, it will adhere to the textile very firmly, so after the transfer is finished and when you lift the press up, the paper will still firmly adhere to the textile, it prevents the paper and textile from moving, the ghosting will not occur.
